On-call fire station raises thousands with local businesses’ support
A small station in rural Wales has raised thousands for us this year through a number of fundraising events – a shining example of the impact local communities can have.
A small station in rural Wales has raised thousands for us this year through a number of fundraising events – a shining example of the impact local communities can have. Rhys Fitzgerald, an on-call firefighter with Mid and West Wales FRS, is hoping to become the first to summit Mt Everest in full fire kit in 2025 – while raising funds for us. Megan Gait visited Aberdare Fire Station to offer a donation to us and a hamper to the crew. Firefighters from across Wales put themselves to the test with a series of challenges designed to showcase their skills and strength - all in aid of us. A Welsh mum is set to take on the Welsh 3000s Challenge in aid of us, as a thank you to her local firefighters who helped her family following a house fire.
