A community came together to take part in a bike ride in aid of us, after their local fire crew saved two brothers who were trapped in a house fire last year. Mid and West Wales firefighters, Nathan Bringloe and Richard Davies, completed the 13.1 miles in full kit and carried breathing apparatus to raise funds for us. Killingbeck Green Watch, from West Yorkshire FRS, will run the half marathon in aid of us while wearing full firefighting kit. The match raised a huge £26,000, to be split between us and two other charities, in memory of Norfolk on-call firefighter Carl Mills. A team of wholetime and on-call firefighters will take on the annual challenge to raise funds for us – a cause close to all their hearts.
