Georgia Phillipson saw her professional rugby career abruptly end due to an injury, and feared it’d also mean the end of her being a firefighter – but she says our support got her back on the run again. Retired firefighter Mick Lilley sadly lost his wife to leukaemia just over two years ago and says he was supported throughout the pandemic by our Living Well Groups. Here he shares how they helped him find the confidence to find happiness again. Firefighter Matt Pendlebury helped us secure a valuable national partnership with leading forecourt retailer EG Group, after first approaching them for a donation towards his London Marathon fundraising drive. Andrew Robinson has been supported by the Charity with his mental health recently – and he says online Living Well Groups have helped him reconnect with the community he missed so much. When Cumbria firefighter Jon Helm was struck down with long Covid, he struggled to see an end to the ordeal. But after speaking to us, he received the help he needed through video sessions and later face-to-face.
