Joe Harkins and Ludo Macaulay have both previously taken part in the Tunnel to Towers 5K event in New York, to pay their respects to the 343 firefighters that lost their lives. Andrew Lynch is soon to finish his term as our Chair of the Board of Trustees, a voluntary role that he has held for the last four years. We sit down with him to reflect on his time on the Board and hear his aspirations for the future of The Fire Fighters Charity. It has been 11 years since Hampshire firefighters Jim Shears and Alan Bannon were killed in a fire in Shirley Towers, Southampton. For Jim’s widow, Carla, running and fundraising for the Charity that supported her family in the aftermath of the tragedy became an important part of her healing. Chris Birdsell-Jones has been the force behind The Fire Tones campaign for the Christmas Number One. He tells us what it's been like to take on the music industry and what has given him the energy to keep going.
