Healthy Lifestyle awareness programme launches
Continuing our commitment to tackle common health and wellbeing issues affecting the fire community, we are launching a new series of 'Living Well' awareness programmes.
Continuing our commitment to tackle common health and wellbeing issues affecting the fire community, we are launching a new series of 'Living Well' awareness programmes. A former West Sussex firefighter appeared on Channel 4 sharing his story of the renovation of an old fire engine and the support he received from our Charity with his mental health. Our nation-wide digital Living Well Groups have grown in number over the last year, offering a much-needed place to socialise and discuss wellbeing matters with fellow retirees. We speak to some of the people for whom the groups have become an unexpected lifeline. Whether it's as part of a choir or just joining in with your favourite music, singing has significant benefits for our mental and physical health. Don't believe us? Try joining in with The Fire Tones cover of a Christmas classic and see how it makes you feel. We are proud to be supporting a new website designed to support positive mental health among Scotland's emergency responders.
