Following an accident on operational service, Suffolk firefighter Rick Clarke, who serves at Newmarket Fire Station, attended the charity’s Harcombe House centre in Devon for two weeks.
After recently undergoing illness, surgery and treatment for breast cancer, Elaine is now in remission. She has visited Harcombe House on three separate occasions, twice for recuperation and most recently for rehabilitation.
Sally Barnett began her career in the Fire Control room at Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service HQ. She became a retained fire fighter after recovering from a serious back injury. She says she would never have been fit enough to do so without the help and support of Fire Fighters Charity.
Derek Wilson suffered a life threatening injury when responding to a shout and used the charity's services to help him get back on the run.
A motorcycle accident left Paul 'Smudger' Smith fearing for his career, but support from Fire Fighters Charity saw him back on the run, and now he's become a volunteer.
