Merrick Josephs, who works in LFB’s Firefighter Development Team, attended our Reset Programme following a family bereavement. A group of firefighters from Northolt Fire Station in London attended one of our Reset Programmes after going through a shared trauma. Here, two of them reflect on the visit. Shannon Barlow works for Heathrow Airport’s fire service and attended one of our Covid Recovery Programmes at Marine Court – which she says helped her feel less alone on her health journey. Retired firefighter John Willoughby shares how he found the courage to reach out for help following months of mental health challenges – and why finding proactive tools to cope early is so important. LFB firefighter Wayne Jackson has received our support in the past for both his physical and mental health, and more recently attended one of our Child and Family Weeks – which he says helped his autistic son hugely.
