A group of children working with Homestart East Surrey were invited to an Open Day with crews from Surrey FRS – before enjoying a very special reading of our book, The Wolf Was Not Sleeping. Rory Mangan ran 73km in a month to raise money for the Charity and support his firefighter dad Stu, who jumped out of a plane alongside several colleagues over the weekend. Kent Fire Control took part in a charity abseil down the Canterbury Fire Station drill tower to raise money for two fire-related charities: The Fire Fighters Charity and the Katie Piper Foundation. Eleven trainee firefighters from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have pulled together to raise hundreds of pounds by hauling a 12-tonne fire engine around a four mile course. A team from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have completed a 42 mile relay run to support The Fire Fighters Charity and a local firefighter battling a rare form of cancer.
