Support for young carers
Our Welfare Services Lead, Carrie Pearce, has highlighted the huge number of young people that are caring for a loved one - often without recognition.
Our Welfare Services Lead, Carrie Pearce, has highlighted the huge number of young people that are caring for a loved one - often without recognition. After suffering an accident at home, Lynn Iredale received support from the Charity last year. Now, to say thank you, her employers have made an incredible gesture. Continuing our commitment to Carers Week, Nursing Services Lead Kath Savage spoke to some of the carers from within the fire community to hear what caring means to them. While caring can be rewarding, it can also feel like a burden. In honour of Carers Week, our Welfare Services Lead Carrie Pearce shares her own experience of caring for her mother-in-law. This Carers Week, our Welfare Caseworker, Irene Ramsden, tells us why this network of unsung heroes around the UK need more support.
