Inside our 2021 Child and Family Programme
We welcomed families from across the fire community – many of whom have children with additional needs - to come together over two weeks at Harcombe House for a much-needed break.
We welcomed families from across the fire community – many of whom have children with additional needs - to come together over two weeks at Harcombe House for a much-needed break. Our dedicated Welfare Team have helped beneficiaries with everything from bereavement support to financial hardship, home adaptations, employment and housing issues and much, much more. Our Welfare Services Lead, Carrie Pearce, has highlighted the huge number of young people that are caring for a loved one - often without recognition. Continuing our commitment to Carers Week, Nursing Services Lead Kath Savage spoke to some of the carers from within the fire community to hear what caring means to them. While caring can be rewarding, it can also feel like a burden. In honour of Carers Week, our Welfare Services Lead Carrie Pearce shares her own experience of caring for her mother-in-law.
