Retained firefighter Rick Lavens and colleague Mike Cleaver from Devizes, Wiltshire, hope to cycle their gruelling miles in one 12-hour period. Father and son firefighters John and James Adams from Nottingham have walked 300km of the Camino de Santiago for their #My75Miles challenge. Retired West Yorkshire firefighter Stephen Wolstenholme has walked the 80 miles of The Dales Way this week to show his appreciation of the Charity that helped his wife’s cancer recovery. Last month, 53-year-old Carol Lord from Bolton swam the 22 miles of Loch Lomond in 19 hours. Here, she describes her experience of this incredibly difficult challenge and what motivated her to keep going.
