West Yorkshire FRS donates 20K from internal lottery
A team of volunteers have been working hard to deliver an internal lottery for the service since 1996 – and their latest donation to us is an incredible £20,300.
A team of volunteers have been working hard to deliver an internal lottery for the service since 1996 – and their latest donation to us is an incredible £20,300. Richard and Justina Sexton marked their 80th birthdays this year, the same year as our own, with a garden party in aid of us – as a thank you for the support their received from their local fire crews. Poppy was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia last year. The youngster now wants to fundraise for us as a thank you to firefighters that went the extra mile to cheer her up. Elliot Kear, who was part of the Welsh squad in this year’s Rugby League World Cup, says he’s donated to us from the moment he joined the fire service. A retired Watch Manager from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and his colleagues helped to organise an incredible event in aid of us.
