Firefighting family to walk 110 miles for ‘heart hero’ son
An on-call firefighter and two colleagues will walk the distance in fire kit and BA, while his wife and her father – also an on-call firefighter – will join them in normal clothing.
An on-call firefighter and two colleagues will walk the distance in fire kit and BA, while his wife and her father – also an on-call firefighter – will join them in normal clothing. The Wannell family have been supporting us since the 1970s with their vintage turntable ladder fire appliance – having experienced our support first-hand, through the generations. Avon Fire and Rescue Service invited staff and their families and friends to come together for a fun-filled day in support of us. Heather Kent, 15, has no direct connection to the fire service but spent six weeks picking litter in return for donations, as a thank you to fire service personnel she says are the “spirit of their community”. By regularly donating to us, you are directly supporting people like Anton and his son with welfare support when they need it most.
