We've been at the Emergency Services Show at the NEC Birmingham over the last couple of days, sharing news of our plans and ambitions with other fire service and blue light organisations. Alongside visiting Harcombe House to find out about all that we do, HRH Duke of Cambridge and The Royal Foundation have launched a new 24/7 crisis text line for the UK's frontline first responders, supported by The Fire Fighters Charity. His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge will visit The Fire Fighters Charity’s Harcombe House centre in Chudleigh, Devon on 9 September – Emergency Services Day – to recognise the work of the Charity in supporting the UK’s fire services community. A successful application to the Care Quality Commission has seen an increase in the number of nursing bedrooms at Jubilee House, meaning a hundred extra beneficiaries with nursing needs can visit each year. We sit down with the team to hear how kindness and compassion is the service that underpins all they do. Our Awards ceremony will now be held in Spring 2020, with nominations extended to next January.
