Small on-call station raises thousands with local businesses’ support
A small station in rural Wales has raised thousands for us this year through a number of fundraising events – a shining example of the impact local communities can have.
A small station in rural Wales has raised thousands for us this year through a number of fundraising events – a shining example of the impact local communities can have. Derbyshire on-call firefighter, Pip Waite, ran 31 miles on a treadmill in full fire kit, while watching Fireman Sam episodes, to raise funds for us. From school children completing a sponsored walk to runs, Open Days, gruelling challenges and so much more, July has been packed with fundraising highlights. Jack Gillett is our new Engagement Rep, covering Southwest England, and he’s sharing why he chose to join our team alongside his on-call work. A community is coming together to take part in a bike ride in aid of us, after their local fire crew saved two brothers who were trapped in a house fire last year.
