Station Manager Peter Lau suffered a life-changing spinal injury when his bike collided with a car, leaving him in a wheelchair. In 2015 Peter received the Beneficiary of Courage award at our Spirit of Fire awards.

Even so, there are those amongst us who go out of their way to try and give back to their local community by volunteering their time on top of all their daily responsibilities – Stuart Plaskett, The Fire Fighters Charity Service Coordinator for Cheshire Fire and Rescue, is just such a person.
