When retired firefighter Brian Hull’s wife passed away in 2019, he received support from his former colleagues through the Charity’s Living Well Groups. When the first lockdown hit, firefighter Uzair Yaqoob saw his job change overnight. But keen to help where he was most needed, he volunteered as an ambulance driver to support his emergency services colleagues. When firefighter Sasha Acheson injured her shoulder playing rugby, she faced weeks out of work. But thanks to the support she received from the Charity, she went on to achieve her dream just months later. Sustaining a physical injury during lockdown, Camberley firefighter Ray Antrobus thought his chances of treatment and recovery were slim. However, reaching out to the Charity he found the support he needed via video consultation. Louise Moody had no idea she could access the Charity's support. But as the partner to a serving firefighter, when she reached out for mental health support, we were only too happy to help.
