Diagnosed with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, Zoe was unable to work or lead a normal day-to-day life. Supported by her husband Jamie, Zoe spent time on one of our programmes after her condition began to take a toll on family life. Russell Gascoyne, Crew Manager from Blue Watch at Wokingham Fire Station, tore his anterior cruciate ligament whilst on a training drill. Retired Watch Manager, Stephen McArdle, was struggling to manage after fracturing bones in his shoulder, back and ribs in a road bike accident.
Earlier in her career, Sarah Cuthbert visited Marine Court for a recuperation break to help her to address the issues she was facing in her personal life. She left with a newfound clarity and focus, as well as something she wasn't expecting to find there - a husband. After retiring from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service Bob was involved in a serious road traffic collision. Tragically his wife was killed in the accident and he sustained major injuries which hospitalised him for a year. In this interview, Bob tells his story and explains how the Charity has helped him regain his mobility and independence.
