What started as a personal fundraising journey for retained Warwickshire firefighter Alison Insley's Fire Family Challenge became an event that brought her community together. What started as a bit of a joke to annoy his wife led to retired Worcester firefighter Dave Hunt raising £2,650 with an asymmetrical head and beard shave for his Fire Family Challenge. For this, we applaud him. Recently-retired London and North Yorkshire firefighter Stuart Rye cycled the four compass points of mainland Britain for his Fire Family Challenge. And it made him reflect on his own journey with mental health. When the future of his career with Hampshire Fire and Rescue was thrown into uncertainty due to an injury, Kevin Page turned to The Fire Fighters Charity. Having been involved in a motorcycle accident just four months into his career as a retained firefighter, Steven Tiller has since been able to return to full fitness with our support and is now preparing for an epic challenge to say thank you.
