Katie Grant took on the 2023 London Marathon in aid of us having experienced our support first-hand. Retired on-call firefighter, Graham Wass, is living with MS which impacts his day-to-day life hugely. He’s been supported both face-to-face and remotely in recent years – thanks to funds raised and donations made by you. Melanie Burgess visited Harcombe House with her mum and sister in October 2022 for a chance to rest and recharge, after both her and her sister were diagnosed with cancer around the same time. Retired firefighter Andy began struggling with fatigue during the pandemic, despite not having had Covid. He later discovered it was linked to his mental health and says reaching out for help was the best thing he could have done. Firefighter Uroosa Arshid was inspired to become a Station Rep for the charity having dreamed of joining the fire service and making a difference since she was a child.
