Swimming pools
Please note, use of our hydrotherapy pool is only for beneficiaries on our activity-based programmes and only when supervised by a member of our team as part of your schedule.
Our leisure pool is available to rental, catered and self-catered recuperation guests on a pre-booking basis. To book, please speak with our reception team.
Please shower before using the pool and enter via the steps. Due to limited space in our changing facilities, you may opt to change and shower in your own room. You may therefore wish to bring a robe or dressing gown with you for your comfort. Appropriate and clean footwear and clothing must be worn.
The use of snorkels, masks, flippers or inflatables is prohibited in the pool, and running, jumping and/or diving is not permitted. People with open wounds, communicable diseases, compromised immune systems or recent bouts of diarrhoea should avoid using the pool. Due to the type of lighting in the pool, there may be flickering on the water that may affect those prone to epileptic seizures.
Gym
Our gym facilities are primarily used by beneficiaries taking part in an activity-based programmes as part of a structured timetable of activity. Our gym is also available to rental, catered and self-catered recuperation guests on a pre-booking basis. To book, please speak with our reception team.
We ask that you assist us in wiping down whatever gym equipment you use before putting it away using available wipes and alcohol gel. Your support in achieving this will be greatly appreciated. All facilities are deep cleaned at the end of each day.
Bicycles
You may wish to bring a bicycle with you for use outside of the centre and around the surrounding area, but please note, you do so at your own risk as we do not have anywhere undercover for you to leave them. Cycling is not permitted on the site itself.
The dining room
For those beneficiaries joining us for activity-based programmes or catered recuperation, our on-site dining area provides nutritious and tasty food, using the same traffic light coding for nutritional values as you’ll find in supermarkets, in line with government recommendations. We are happy to accommodate guests with special dietary requirements, please speak to a member of the catering team if you have not already shared these with us.
The dining room is also available to rental and self-catered recuperation guests from Monday to Thursday, should they wish to book a meal. Further details are available from our reception team.
Bar
We have a licensed bar on site which is open Sunday to Thursday between 19:00 and 23:00. As we are a cashless site, we ask that drinks are paid for using a debit or credit card (excluding American Express).
Smoking
There is a designated smoking area on the patio facing the river, with a provided cigarette bin. Otherwise smoking is not permitted on the rest of the site, which includes the use of e- cigarettes and vaping.
Golf
We have an arrangement with the local golf club for guests to enjoy cheaper rates. Please ask at Reception for more information.
Fishing
The Charity has the fishing rights along the stretch of the River Eamont that runs alongside the centre. It is essential each person fishing the river has their own license as this may result in a charge for both you and the Charity if found fishing without one. Licenses can be purchased from Penrith Post Office for the duration of your stay. Guests must have emailed us their rod license ahead of arriving.
