There are so many significant ways of supporting our charity, whether it’s through regular donations, fundraising, clothes donations, volunteering or so much more.

And home safety provider, Aico, recently partnered with us as a corporate volunteer, with its employees making four separate visits to our centres to donate their time and products.

The teams fitted carbon monoxide alarms in each of the bungalows at Harcombe House on the first visit, before donating smoke alarms on the second visit – while teams further north carried out a host of jobs on site at Jubilee House, such as painting.

Having worked closely with Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Aico’s Relationship Manager for Surrey and Kent, Brad Wain, reached out to us after meeting one of our Regional Fundraisers at an Open Day two years ago.

He says: “We do a lot of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work in local communities and have always had close ties with Fire and Rescue Services, so this partnership with the charity means a lot to us.

“I reached out initially to see if we could use one of our volunteering days to visit the centres, and it grew from there.

“It could well be that the individuals from Kent FRS, for example, who are fitting our alarms currently, may come to the Fire Fighters Charity down the line for whatever support they may need.

“It’s great that we can help them out by volunteering our time now. We look forward to continuing this partnership throughout next year.”

Debbie Rushbrooke, our Corporate Partnerships Manager, says: “We’re so grateful to Aico for their time and support over the last 18 months.

“They’re a fantastic business and every volunteer has been so generous with their time and resources. We look forward to continuing this valuable partnership going forwards.”
