Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has pulled out all the stops over the last 12 months with an epic year of fundraisers in aid of us, all with the aim of raising £50,000.
Colleagues have organised Open Days, Car Washes, rugby tournaments, cake sales, new recruits challenges, a marathon effort, mountain climbs and even the World Firefighters Games, all to contribute to the incredible team effort.
Staff in all roles, from firefighters to Control Room colleagues, support staff and more will all join the service-wide effort – including Chief Fire Officer, Rob Barber, who’s encouraged stations to get involved and helped out himself.
Rob will now lead several colleagues on one of the final challenges of the year – climbing Mowcop six times – mirroring the height of Mount Everest.

CFO Rob Barber worked on the food stand at one event.
Speaking about the past year, Rob says: “Massive thanks to everyone throughout the service that has supported the 50th anniversary fundraising so far.
“Don’t forget it is your charity and you never know when you or your family may need their support. Many of our colleagues and their families have been supported through all sorts of issues so please dig deep.”
Our Regional Fundraiser, Lisa Courtney, says: “It has been such a privilege working alongside everyone at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service over the last year as they’ve gone above and beyond to raise tens of thousands of pounds for us.
“I’ve seen first-hand the dedication they have all shown, and efforts they’ve gone to, to make the year a success. A huge thank you goes to everyone involved.”

Stations kicked the year off in 2024 by organising car washes in aid of us, with Newcastle-under-Lyme and Lichfield raising over £1,000 each with theirs in the first few weeks alone.
Since then, the events have continued month on month.
Glynn Luznyj ran the Manchester Marathon on 14 April 2024 to contribute, while Richard Mortimer travelled to Denmark on 24 September for the World Firefighters Games.

Since then, members of the community have kindly got behind the service with donations and attending events, while businesses such as Barret Homes and Newcastle Fire Boster Club have generously donated too.
