A Scottish fire station has donated an incredible £15,000 to us after organising a golf day, with support from neighbouring stations and local businesses.

Keith Fire Station organised the Texas Scramble Golf Day at Keith Golf Club this summer, with a raffle and other attractions throughout the day.

The Robertson Trust and Edrington generously triple matched the funds raised on the day through their matched funding scheme, which brought the total to £15K.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer – and our Trustee – Ross Haggart, recently joined our Regional Fundraiser, Lyndsay Campbell, to accept the cheque at The Macallan distillery, alongside crews from Keith and Buckie Fire Stations.

Firefighter Colin Simpson helped to organise the event and said: “The crew at Keith Fire Station are absolutely blown away by the support we received from the local community and from local businesses.

“We all work hard behind the scenes to create a wonderful day for everyone and we have succeeded twice with this now. To raise such an amount means so much to us, giving we know how important the Fire Fighters Charity is to us and within the service.

“We know and hope this money will go a long way in helping fire service personnel across Scotland if and when they need help, they truly are an amazing charity and we are very proud to be able to help out with raising so much.”
