As we're halfway through our Bag It and Bank It textiles recycling campaign, here are ten surprising facts you may not know about our textiles habits, and how we can all do our bit to help the planet as well as The Fire Fighters Charity. Five-time 'Bag it and Bank it' winners Egremont Fire Station share their top five tips on how to collect more than 11,000 KG of textiles in just one month. The group are currently in the running to be the Christmas Number One, with sales of the single going to The Fire Fighters Charity and The Band Aid Charity Trust. Firefighters took part in The Broadgate Tower Run Up, climbing the equivalent of a vertical mile, some wearing full kit. And it was all to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity. A retired Chief Fire Officer who served with Highlands and Islands Fire Service has completed a 4,300 mile bike ride across America to raise funds.
