October started off with another action-packed London Marathon and ended with a spook-tacular Halloween – and our fire services community have fundraised their hearts out for us once again.
Just one of the many incredible efforts came from Becks Bryant-Thomas, who bought our Charity pins to offer out as wedding favours at her wedding – all while raising more than £400 for us through donations. What a star, and she’s one of many over the last four weeks…
Very proud to say that by buying Charity Pins from @firefighters999 for wedding favours at our wedding breakfast and having an option for donations to the charity as a wedding present, we have successfully raised at least £400 for The Fire Fighters Charity from or wedding. ♥️??? pic.twitter.com/21qAEt2PWn

We also asked anyone regularly donating for the first time through October why they chose to support us:
While one stated they’d used our services, another stated he was in the fire service and “one day it may be him”.
One was a survivor in a house fire, while another said: “Firefighters help lots of people and do not get government funding.”
Thank you to everyone who’s donated to us, and continues to do so. We couldn’t offer our vital support without you.
And for those giving one-off donations throughout the month:
One family visited their local station with their children and had a great time, while another donated to “help all the brave firefighters who may need help”.
Meanwhile, one said they’d “benefitted from mental health support”, one donated in memory of their brother, and another said it was as a thanks for “the kindness shown by some of your team.”
