Inspiring members of our fire services community have been recognised for their services to Fire and Rescue, their communities, and our charity, in this year’s New Year’s Honours.

Several fire service personnel and volunteers have been named in the King’s 2024 New Year’s Honours list, including His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, Andrew Cooke, who was awarded a knighthood.

Our Trustee, and former Chief Officer of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Ross Haggart was also recognised with a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Our Chief Executive, Sherine Wheeler, says: “Individuals from across our fire services community go above and beyond to protect and serve their communities every day, and these honours recognise the incredible work and sacrifice of some truly extraordinary people. Their contributions to public safety, charity, and fire and rescue services are hugely commendable.
