Over 40 runners took on the 2023 TSC London Marathon to fundraise for our Charity including an incredible record-breaking challenge by Mark Peart.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone in our team for taking on the challenge and raising over £80,000* to support the health and wellbeing of our fire and rescue services community.
South Yorkshire Firefighter Mark Peart completed the London Marathon while wearing a breathing apparatus and mask. He finished with an incredible time of 4:42:05, smashing the world record time for the challenge.
He was supported by a crew of friends and colleagues who were ready every 2 miles along the course to switch BA air tanks and keep Mark fed and hydrated. To claim the record he was only allowed to remove his mask for air tank changeovers and to drink. We’ll be sharing more details about Mark’s astounding achievement soon.
