Whether achieving personal goals, breaking their own records, running as a thank you for support they’ve received or just hoping to make a lasting difference, we saw some incredible runners take to the streets of Leeds in this year’s Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon.
Several supporters ran the huge distance in the heat in aid of us, all for reasons close to their hearts – and we’re so grateful.
Below are just a few of the many highlights from the day. And don’t forget you could fundraise for us too and help us continue to support our fire services community. Find out more here:
I completed the Leeds Marathon for @firefighters999 this morning. 8 minutes slower than last year but I finished it and raised over £1,200 while I was at it. It’s not too late to sponsor me, every penny counts… https://t.co/kqc5Ly7Bzv @nottsfire pic.twitter.com/kpFdytiWHR

Happy to report that despite the heat and hills, Leeds Marathon in firekit and BA to support @firefighters999 was a success, beating my 7 hour target with a time of 6:56:04! @NorthYorksFire @theyorkmix @BBCYork @yorkpress
