Members of our fire services community have been recognised for their tireless work in their communities and beyond in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours.
From firefighters and Crew Managers to Chief Fire Officers and our own Honorary Research Lead at Nottingham Trent University – Professor Rowena Hill – the King has celebrated the incredible work of many of these individuals by awarding them MBEs, BEMs and Fire Service Medals.
Our Chief Executive, Sherine Wheeler, says: “I send my heartfelt congratulations to all those in our fire family who have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours this year. Each of those honoured has gone above and beyond to protect and serve their communities over the last year, dedicating their time to making a difference. These awards are thoroughly deserved by all.”

Richard Ogden: Chief Fire Officer, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Boxwise Charity Foundation. For services to the community in Cumbria and to Young People in the UK and Abroad.
Professor Rowena Hill: National Collaborative Lead, Covid-19 Foresight Group. For Public Service.
