Today we are celebrating and honouring all those working and volunteering in our fire services community and the wider emergency services family.
Every day, fire and rescue service personnel go above and beyond to keep their communities safe, showing incredible heroism and dedication.
Today is about thanking them for their tireless work and highlighting the huge sacrifices they make to keep us safe.
Dr Jill Tolfrey, Chief Executive of The Fire Fighters Charity, said of Emergency Services Day: “Each year, 999 Day allows us to take a moment to thank serving and retired fire service personnel across the UK for their dedication and service.
“We rely on our fire services to keep us safe and it is an honour for us, as their charity, to provide them with services and support to boost their health and wellbeing.
“So, on behalf of everyone at The Fire Fighters Charity, thank you for all that you do, and remember that we are here for you too.”
At 9am today there will be a two-minutes’ silence to remember all those emergency service staff who have lost their lives as a result of their service to our nation. Please join with us in taking this time for reflection, and in thanking all our emergency services for the incredible work they do.
We are here for all fire and rescue service personnel, both working and retired, as well as their dependants, offering specialist health and wellbeing support to empower them live happier and healthier. And that support lasts a lifetime.
