Our January Bag it and Bank it recycling campaign has once again raised thousands of pounds to fund our life-changing health and wellbeing services – and it’s all thanks to you.
Through generous donations of unwanted clothing, we’ve seen an incredible 523 tonnes of clothing collected at recycling banks outside fire stations and community sites, 36 tonnes more than last year and roughly equivalent to three blue whales or 71 African elephants – a powerful testament to the difference we can make, together.
With help from our dedicated team of recycling partners, without whom none of this would be possible, this has generated £63,000 of income – funds that directly support fire service personnel and their families in times of need.
By supporting our clothes recycling scheme, you’re not just donating – you’re changing lives. Each item you drop off helps us provide vital care and support to those who are there for us every day. Every pound raised ensures that when a member of our fire family needs help – whether for their physical or mental wellbeing – we’re there for them.
Our Sales Manager, Kevin Biles, says: “Once again, I’m amazed by the incredible support for our Bag it and Bank it campaign. This year, the dedication from our fire services community and the public has been truly inspiring, and the funds raised will have a real impact.
“A huge thank you also goes to our recycling partners, whose continued hard work and commitment help make this campaign such a success. We couldn’t do it without you!”
