With increasing numbers of young people facing challenges with their mental health, there’s a growing need for dedicated support for them – and you, their families.
We have listened to your concerns and, based on the feedback provided by our beneficiaries, we have partnered with an organisation called Livelife to offer online therapy sessions to support your 16/17 year old.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens once I have submitted the request form for my young person to receive therapy?
We will review your request to confirm eligibility, on some occasions we may need to contact you and ask you some questions. To understand more about who is eligible to receive support from us, click here. Once eligibility is confirmed we will send you an email that will contain next steps and a link to Livelife. You should receive this email and link from The Fire Fighters Charity within 7 working days.
How will I receive the voucher code?
You will receive the voucher code as a link via an email from us. When you click on the link it will take you to a page that will guide you through how to generate the voucher code. Please note you will need to use the same email address that you used to request the support.
Who delivers the therapy sessions?
We have partnered with an organisation called Livelife (part of the social enterprise, Turning Point) which provides specialist online therapy services.
When will we hear from Livelife to set up the initial consultation?
Once you have received the voucher link and generated the voucher code, Livelife aim to be in contact within 14 days to book the initial assessment with the young person.
What will happen during an initial assessment?
Livelife will conduct an assessment with the young person to determine their needs. The initial assessment will take up to 1 hour. If your young person’s needs cannot be met by Livelife, signposting and specialist advice will be provided.
How many sessions of therapy will my young person be entitled to?
The Charity will fund an initial assessment (up to 1 hour) and either 4 x 50 minute counselling sessions or 6 x 30 minute Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) sessions, dependent on need.
Is there an opportunity to have additional therapy sessions?
On completion of the funded sessions, there will be an opportunity for you to purchase additional sessions directly with Livelife if your 16/17 year old requires this.
Will my young person need to travel for the sessions?
LiveLife is a telephone or video-based therapy provider, you will not need to travel. The Livelife therapist will discuss the options and your 16/17-year-old’s preference in the initial consultation call.
What if my young person needs urgent help or feels suicidal?
This is not a crisis service, if your 16/17-year-old is experiencing thoughts of harming themselves or taking their own life, please contact your GP, call 111 or the Samaritans on 116 123 (free helpline 24/7 support), alternatively text THEMIX to 85258 or the emergency services if they are in immediate danger of harm.
