We offer support to thousands of beneficiaries every year at our three centres across the UK – Harcombe House in Devon, Marine Court in Littlehampton and Jubilee House in Penrith.
And we have a number of volunteers who offer a few hours a week to help out, ensuring we can continue to offer this vital support.
These volunteer roles are thoroughly rewarding and offer tremendous value to staff and beneficiaries alike. Below are a few of them.
If you are interested in any of our volunteer roles, please email us at volunteers@firefighterscharity.org.uk or call us on 01256 366580.
Visitor service volunteers
Each centre has a team of volunteers who, working in pairs, offer our new beneficiaries a warm welcome, a briefing session on what to expect during the course of their programme and a tour of the facilities before they settle into their stay.
There are opportunities for volunteers to greet those starting a week-long residential programme on a Sunday or Monday, while others can meet anyone attending one of our centres on a rest and recharge stay on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday. We can share specific times for each centre once you get in touch with us. (See contact details at the bottom of this page).
Café Volunteers
We are looking to recruit team members to support an exciting new venture at Harcombe House – The Stables Café.
Café Volunteers are integral members of our wider hospitality team. They will work alongside our Café Colleagues providing refreshments and food to our beneficiaries and customers of The Stables Café.
Our shifts in The Stables Café are normally 4 hours long and we ask that you commit to 1 shift per week if you can, but we are flexible, and welcome a conversation with you about what support you may be able to offer us.
Click below to find out more about our Café, or email our Volunteer Team on the details above for information on the role.
Garden Volunteers at Harcombe House
We are looking for volunteers to help cultivate and maintain the beautiful gardens that surround our Devon-based centre, Harcombe House. Ideally, you will have some gardening experience as much of our outside space is designed to relax the senses.
If you are interested in any of our volunteer roles, please email us at volunteers@firefighterscharity.org.uk or call us on 01256 366580.
