With marathons, skydives and obstacle courses in the bag, Aspray has not only gone above and beyond to fundraise for us since our partnership began more then two years ago – but has made some incredible memories as a company along the way.
The property damage insurance service has been a corporate sponsor of The Fire Fighters Charity since 2018, with employees taking on a series of epic challenges to raise vital funds for us ever since.
In a particularly memorable test of fitness, a team – including Managing Director James Whittle – took on a ‘Fire Fighter Experience’, which involved donning a full firefighter suit, crawling through tight spaces to rescue a casualty, applying some science to extinguishing fires and going head-to-head on the ‘rat run’, an obstacle course designed around confined spaces. Aside from being a true test of nerves, the day provided great insight into some of the physical and emotional strengths needed to carry out the day-to-day job of a firefighter.
James Whittle, Aspray’s Managing Director, says: “Aspray are proud to be a corporate sponsor of The Fire Fighters Charity and have the chance to give back to the heroes who put themselves in harms way to protect others. We often see the devastation a fire can cause and work with many customers who are trying to piece their lives back together after such a traumatic event. The role that fire crews play in protecting those people is vital and can often come at the expense of their own health and wellbeing.
“After taking part in the Fire Fighters’ Experience Day myself, I can certainly see the strength and commitment needed to be part of the fire service and the fundraising we do at Aspray is our way of saying a big thank you for all that they do.”
